Worship Helpers

The Altar Guild

The Altar Guild serves our Lord by quietly assisting the clergy in preparing the altar for all worship services. Our ministry cleans and cares for the linens and vessels used for worship. Volunteers serve once a month. They arrive 30 minutes before service, re-set between the services and clean up afterwards. The contribution of each Altar Guild member is important. We would love for you to join us.

Lectors

Lectors lead the congregation for the lessons appointed for that day, at all services. Lessons include the Old and New Testament and the Psalm if it is not sung.

Greeters and Ushers
Greeters and Usher welcome all attendees, whether they are parishioners or visitors, and provide bulletins to each person. Ushers assist with seating for all services. They assist parishioners to the rail for communion, bring up the people’s offerings of bread and wine and collect the offering.

Flag Bearers
Carry the American flag in the Procession at the beginning of Sunday service at 8 am and 10 am.

Lay Eucharistic Ministers
The LEM or Lay Eucharistic Ministers serve on the altar during our worship services. Their purpose is to assist our priests and deacons during the Eucharist and to act as Chalice Bearers at the Communion. They are licensed by the Bishop to perform these duties.

Lay Eucharistic Visitors
The LEV or Lay Eucharistic Visitor takes and dispenses communion to our parishioners who are home-bound or institutionalized and cannot attend our worship service. The LEVs are licensed by the Bishop to perform this most rewarding ministry.
