We have been working hard at putting together a protocol for restarting “live” Church services at St. George. Recently, the leadership received instructions from Bishop Brewer as to how we will begin to re-establish worship. The Vestry met on Thursday. The Wardens and Rector met with the Usher team. The Clergy have met. What we present is a “start.” Like retail stores and restaurants, we expect our guidelines will change week to week.

·        Our first in place Church services will take place on May 30th and May 31st.
·        There will be a Saturday, 5:00 PM service and a Sunday 10:00 AM service. We hope to return to all three services quickly! However, we do need to disinfect the Church and at this time we do not believe we can prepare the Church between 8 and 10 properly. We appreciate your patience!
·        Entry for the services is through the front door only. The side doors may be used for exiting only.
·        ALL attendees will wear masks to protect themselves and others. Masks will be provided to guests and anyone who forgets to bring theirs.
·        The Bishop is requiring attendees to sign in. Members will only need to give their names as their contact info is in the Roster. Guests will give their names and contact info.
·        A team member will tally the number present as our opening services are limited to 50 people. There will not be singing and the choir may resume in September.
·        Bulletins will not be handed out. Our entire service will be printed up for you to pick up so that you may follow along.
·         Collection plates will not be passed during the Offertory. But, the plates will be placed in the narthex.
·        Seating in each pew is limited and will be marked with green tape indicating where to sit for appropriate distancing. There will be seating in the transept as needed for special needs attendees.
· For the Eucharist, people will receive the Bread only. In order to receive Communion, parishioners will come to the front of the SIDE aisles and return to their pew via the CENTER aisle, keeping social distancing in mind. (The Altar Rail cannot presently be used.)
·        At the end of the service, dismissal will be handled by the ushers, starting at the rear of the church. Parishioners will be asked to maintain social distancing. Those needing special assistance may want to wait to avoid feeling rushed.
·        The Parish hall will not be open during the first weekend. There is no Coffee Hour at this time.
·        Between services the door handles and restrooms will be sanitized.
·        The tops/backs of the pews will be sanitized as many people pull up on them to stand.  Hand sanitizer will be available in the narthex
·        The restrooms will be supplied with antibacterial soap.
·        Online services will continue.
·        A weekday service is being planned as we speak.
This is a place to start.
