PSA on scams aimed at social security recipients, stimulus recipients and tax payers be weary of emails and unsolicited phone calls.
1. Never click on emails be it, “from your bank” or any other financially connected accounts always go to your online accounts directly from your web browser. Often scammers impersonate your bank to credit card in emails asking you to reset, verify or other wise log into via a link in an email.
2. Never give unsolicited phone callers any banking information including social security or account numbers. They will often claim they are trying to deposit funds etc.
3. Ignore “IRS” threatening phone calls, they do not call you, nor do they threaten you with police or jail … Meaning fake demand for payment monies.
